“Pacifica No. 10”, 15” x 11”, oil on canvas, by Patricia Araujo
I had the pleasure of welcoming a new collector from Los Angeles to my studio this week.
Earlier this year, Eric came across my works inspired by the statue of Pacifica and reached out the old-fashioned way — by telephone — to inquire about purchasing "Pacifica No. 10". He placed a deposit and promised to pick up the painting on his next visit to the Bay Area.
Eric grew up in Pacifica and was already familiar with Ralph Stackpole’s statue of Pacifica and the Treasure Island Fair. He was thrilled at the prospect of bringing a painting of Pacifica into his home.
It was such a delight to meet Eric and his aunt at my studio and to hear his personal connection to the subject. I’m delighted that "Pacifica No. 10" will soon have a new home, where it will continue to celebrate a place that holds special meaning for him.
