I’m delighted to share that I’ve been invited to showcase 2 of my Bogota city paintings at UN_FAIR Tequendama this September!

UN_FAIR Tequendama is an international fair for non-traditional art and culture, aiming to transform Bogotá's artistic landscape. Located in the unique cultural space of the Tequendama International Center, a historic and cultural heritage site, UN_FAIR Tequendama proposes new avenues for democratizing access to culture through multidisciplinary programming and various initiatives to support artists.

UN_FAIR Tequendama will debut for the first time, and is thrilled to accompany ARTBO- Bogota’s most important art fair, held each year in September. The city converts into the epicenter of the Arts, reuniting with gallerists, curators, and national & international artists.

“Planetario”, 21” x 16”, oil on canvas, by Patricia Araujo

About Planetario
by Patricia Araujo

This work features the Bogotá Planetarium placed centrally in the composition with its dome and snail-shaped building painted abstractly in light and gray tones and pastel colors. It stands on a bright green natural landscape and is accompanied by a dramatic sky in light and dark blue tones as if the planetarium were placed on another spatial terrain.

I loved painting this work because I could visualize a futuristic scene and highlight the planetarium as the main character, which I greatly admire.

The Bogotá Planetarium is located on Calle 26B No. 5-93, between the Plaza de Santa María Bullring and Independence Park, in the International Center, which is about 10 kilometers from Bogotá.

This is a neighborhood that, in addition to being the headquarters of important banks, public entities, and businesses, is a cultural and artistic space of great importance for the city.

The Planetarium was inaugurated on Monday, December 22, 1969, and the iconic snail-shaped stage was designed and built by the firm of architects engineers Pizano, Pradilla, Caro, and Restrepo. Since 2012, the Bogotá Planetarium has been a cultural facility of the District Institute of the Arts.

About Planetario Nocturno
by Patricia Araujo

"Planetario Nocturno" (Planetarium Nocturnal) shows an angled view of its building and its central focus at its entrance, painted in dark colors and neon touches and accompanied by palm trees and a modern building. Visualized at night, a place to dream about the stars!
